Q. What are the advantages of having my collection in a database?

A. With a searchable database you can find what you’re looking for and access your entire collection easily. Any information pertaining to a piece: artist’s name, medium, value, location etc. can be the basis for a search. Printouts and copies of the files can be made, allowing you to edit and reconfigure the work without altering the original file. Your database can be updated at any time, keeping your records current. We’ll even store a backup for you if you wish.

Q. Why do I need this kind of documentation?

A. Insurance companies require photographic documentation to support claims. Banks and Estate Planners recommend this sort of record keeping in substantiating value. As an individual, knowing the actual extent of your holdings is extremely reassuring.

Q. Are your databases Mac or PC compatible? Do I need special software to operate them?

A. We use cross-platform software that can run on Mac or PC. Our databases have runtime functionality built into the database requiring no further installations.

Q. Do you only deal with art collections?

A. No. Our services are applicable to a wide range of clients. Inventory of any sort: antiques, cultural paraphernalia, jewelry etc. Just about anything of value can be managed by our systems.

Q. What are the business applications of your services?

A. Designers, Architects and small business owners can benefit from establishing an image based database of work and clients. Because of its global functionality this can also include contact lists, mailing labels, and invoices. Portfolios, catalogues, mailings and email may also be drawn from the database.

Q. How do I maintain the database?

A. You can come back to us for periodic updates, or you can update its contents yourself. We can reformat your database if your requirements change.

Q. I have so many pieces, in my house, in storage, where do I begin?

A. Begin with the understanding that some documentation is better than none. Start with what you have easily accessible, such as pieces on display in your home or office. Chances are this is representative of what is in storage. Because our system can be easily updated, you can add future acquisitions as you go along. The idea is to get started.

Q. I collect a lot of different things, does this complicate the job?
